A special congratulations goes to Bernie Puchalski, Sports editor of The St. Catharines Standard for receiving the 2003 Ontario Equestrian Federation Media Award. This award is given to the media outlet which provides the best piece about an equestrian activity from October 1 of the previous year to September 30 of the current year. Bernie's article was the lead story on April 8, 2003 entitled "Horse Sense", about Kati Vrbicek winning the Jump Canada Bursary Award. It featured a head shot of Kati standing with her show jumper - Austin - a Trakehner stallion.
